Economic Warfare With China - We Will Know for Sure When They Start Funding Our Unions

Okay so, not long ago, there was an individual who started a dummy corporation, and donated $1 million to Mitt Romney's presidential campaign for 2012. Immediately the contribution came under fire by Democrats, claiming foul play. However, the way I see it is that the Democrats are living in hypocrisy, because there have been far more questionable contributions coming from their side of the aisle in recent years than one could ever hope to explain in a single article.

Further, several Democratic politicians in the last couple of elections have received contributions from foreign corporations, governments, and citizens to the tune of multimillion dollars, much of which was unaccounted for. Then there have been the unions which have sponsored their own ads, and George Soros with his MoveOn dot org group, running ads on behalf of Barack Obama. We know George Soros promised to spend his own money to defeat George Bush during his midterm elections, but George Soros didn't stop there, even though President Bush was no longer running for office.

Overall, I think I'd be more concerned with foreign governments funding our politicians than I ever would be a US wealthy citizen donating their own personal money to a presidential candidate. In fact, it has occurred to me that if anyone truly wanted to do the United States of America long-term damage that they would merely fund Democratic candidates. Further, I would submit to you that if China ever wanted to defeat the United States that it would be wise to do so economically, not militarily.

To do this, you could expect them to perhaps fund our unions and union political action committees, which would in turn would allow unions to become more powerful thus, forcing more US corporations offshore, and to other nations. This would severely hurt our manufacturing sector, and give China the advantage, which it could use to increase its economic inflows from an unbalanced trade playing field. Now then, with that said if we ever noticed that China is secretly funding as our union's leadership or democratic party or socialist type candidates then we will know that we are at full-scale economic warfare with China.

After all, the unions will support Democratic candidates and promote socialist agendas, and further hamper our free market capitalist economy here, therefore making us weak. It is interesting that the Democrats will take money from foreign sources, but then condemn Republican candidates for taking campaign contributions from corporate donors, and wealthy individuals that own those companies. If we really want to have campaign reform, then we need to knock off the hypocrisy coming from the socialist neoliberal side of the aisle. Please consider all this and think on it.

How to Make Burp Cloths - An Easy Sewing Tutorial

Burp cloths are an absolute necessity for parents with babies. Every baby needs to eat, so they'll have to be burped too. And no one likes spit up getting on them or their clothes. So, if you are the crafty type and possess some basic sewing skills, why not make your own burp cloths? They make cute gifts, or you can keep them for yourself.

Sewing baby burp cloths is easy ad you can be really creative, especially with all the different types of fabrics available. Below are some basic steps to sewing a burp cloth.

Buy some absorbent fabric. There are different types of fabric you can use. Some of my favorites are soft flannel, cotton, and minky. You just want to make sure and choose one that will easily absorb spit-up. For this tutorial, we will be making the baby burpers double sided. What I like to do is choose a flannel fabric and a minky fabric that match. You can make the burper any size you want. But a good general size is nineteen inches by fourteen inches. What's most important is that it covers a good amount of area when placed over someone's shoulder. Once you have your fabric, be sure to prewash and dry it so that it doesn't shrink and pull weird later. Then, you'll need to cut the fabric into the size you want, making both the front and the back pieces the same size. Next, face the print side of both fabrics in towards each other. So you are going to essentially be sewing these pieces "inside-out" so you won't be able to see the raw edges when you turn it right-side-out. Be sure to pin these pieces together before sewing. Leave a space, about four to five inches, where you are not going to be sewing. This will ensure you can turn it right-side-out. Next you can begin sewing around the border of the fabrics, about a quarter-inch from the edges. Once you are finished sewing around the border, turn it right-side-out. You will then need to sew the opening shut, making sure the raw edges of the fabric are tucked inside. For extra durability, you can top-stitch around the edges again. If you don't want the thread to be obvious, you can always use an "invisible thread". Or if you are confident in your sewing abilities, you can use a thread that offers a fun accent color. The last step is to measure the burp cloth into thirds (lengthwise) and sew two corresponding lines right down the middle. This ensures both pieces of fabric will stay where they are supposed to and won't get shifted weird.

If you follow these simple steps, you will be on your way to sewing burp cloths easily. What's really fun about burp cloths is that the sky is the limit. You can play around with making matching sets and using all sorts of different patterned fabric. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

How to Get Cheap Flights to Las Vegas

Finding cheap flights is a great way to save some money when planning your vacation. If you can save some money here then you will have more money to play with. Smart thinking! So how can you get cheap flights to Las Vegas? There are several things you can do.

First of all, and this might already be general knowledge, avoid weekend travel and plan to arrive in Las Vegas sometime during the week. Why? Every Jim, John and Harry wants to get away for the weekend on Friday or Saturday. The airlines don't need to make any accommodations to fill up the planes and can afford to disregard passengers looking for a discount. On Sundays, most people are on their way home because it's back to work on Monday. So, ticket prices begin to go up on Thursday, skyrocket on Friday and Saturday, and then begin to show a slight decrease on Sunday. So the best days to purchase tickets to Las Vegas are Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Plan your stay in Vegas to include the weekend. Try, at least, to stay through Saturday night, which is the busiest time for airlines and the most expensive day to travel.

Book your flight as far ahead of time as possible. The earlier you can book your flight the bigger the discount you can get. On the flip side, if you are a last minute sort of person, you may be able to get a good deal very close to your travel date. This is because, at almost zero hour, the airline is trying to fill up empty seats. This method of purchase is risky, however, and not all companies do this.

Look out for special deals. Airlines usually offer knockdown prices during the slow periods. If you are not particular about when you want to get to Sin City then this is be a good option for you. Remember, Las Vegas is buzzing with action all year round. To stay informed of these deals, subscribe to airline newsletters and alerts and check http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com regularly.

Look into combining packages. Some companies offer reservations for hotels and car rentals as well as flights. If you book one or more of their services, they will offer you a discount.

If you have ever considered buying time-shares in Las Vegas then you may want to combine business with pleasure. In a bid to attract buyers, some real estate companies will fly you out and put you up free so you can get a taste of the Vegas lifestyle. The only requirements are that you fit into a specified income group, take a serious look at what they have to offer and listen to the sales pitch. A word of warning though, make sure you are serious about making a purchase and do not try to take these companies for a ride. Read the fine print. Some companies will charge you for the flight and accommodation if you don't buy what they are selling.

Most importantly, shop around and visit http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com regularly for on going specials and other guides on how to get discount hotel rooms, how to get around Las Vegas, how to entertain kids, how to get married, how to get free stuff and many many more from Las Vegas.

Coaching Cheerleading - How Normal Activities Help Your Team Bond

Much like any other sport, cheerleading relies on the ability of the team to work together toward a common goal. However, it seems that cheerleading takes the team bond to a whole different level. Many cheerleaders find that the girls they perform and practice with are not only their team mates but also their best friends forming a close knit bond of "sisters." Since cheerleading covers each sport season, these girls spend a large majority of time together working to increase school spirit and cheer their team on to victory. When the cheerleaders are not performing for a basketball game, football game, or parade they are often involved in other cheer activities like competitions. The constant interaction makes it absolutely necessary that the cheer team functions as a whole. Teams that function as a whole and bond together are more likely to get further and have a more successful season. Here are a few normal cheer activities that have can have a huge impact on team bonding.

Fundraisers: Sure, they are great to bring your team much needed cash, but they can do a lot more if you choose the right ones. When your looking for fundraisers for your squad choose ones that require the girls to participate as a team. While individual fundraising activities are a good way for each member to earn some extra cash on her own, the group fundraisers are what brings them together. Car washes, bake sales, and in-school spirit competitions are a great way to help the girls bond while achieving a common goal. Community Service: Community service is an excellent way to strengthen the bond between your cheerleaders while helping the community. This will help the girls learn to work together for a common purpose and it will also leave them with a sense of joined pride when they finish their task. Ask your local CEO chapter or your check with the school and city hall to find out where the girls are needed. Parties: Everyone loves a good party and that includes your cheerleaders. While the first two activities helped bond them as a team, a party can help bond them as friends. Treat them to a fun night with a themed party where they can dress up and have a good time. Ice Cream Socials, Hawaiian nights, and decade parties can be a great way for the girls to get silly and get to know each other better. Work Shops and Camps: Work shops and cheer camps are a great way to improve the skills of your team while strengthening their bonds. These events and activities are made to create a stronger team all around and you will be able to talk to professionals who know how to work with cheerleaders and coaches to improve every aspect of team. Competitions: Getting the team involved in competition will not only build their bonds but it will test those bonds and can very well help you decide what areas your team needs to work on. During competition your team will have to show their stuff and work together to against other teams to achieve top rankings.

Sandwiches, They're Everywhere

If a rose by any other name would still be a rose, then a sandwich, by any other name would still be a sandwich. Common belief is that John Montague, the 4th Earl of Sandwich invented this culinary delight some time in the 18th century and while this isn't entirely accurate, it's a topic for future discussion and for our present purpose, we'll just accept that belief at face value.

Sandwiches are one of the marvels of the world. I've never found anyone who doesn't like a sandwich of one sort or another. Sandwiches are found in all cultures. Sandwiches are served in fast food restaurants, in upscale restaurants, in low scale restaurants, in greasy spoons and of course, in our own kitchens.

They are eaten for breakfast. Have you ever seen a fast food place that doesn't have its own version of a "breakfast sandwich" which the hungry eater can quickly grab from the drive through window and wolf down while racing to work in the morning?

Sandwiches are usually the preferred lunch time choice for most people and sandwiches are frequently eaten the last thing at night for those who don't like to go to bed hungry.

In this day and age when most of us are racing from place to place all day long, the sandwich is often eaten for dinner too. That way, the family no longer has to waste time sitting down together to savor a meal lovingly put together by mom.

Our supermarkets are very helpful to us in that they sell packages of sandwich meat ready to go. At one time, the sandwich was made up of the left overs from the previous night's dinner. Now, since many of us don't actually eat meals that allow for left overs this problem has been solved by these pre-packaged sandwich meats.

While it is true that when food is placed between two pieces of bread, the result, since the 18th century, has been to call the result "a sandwich" we frequently find the sandwich called by other names. For example, we will generally just ask for a hamburger or a hotdog. Both the hamburger and the hotdog are served between two pieces of bread, but in their cases, we generally omit the word "sandwich". However, that does not obviate the fact that they are both sandwiches.

Another example of a sandwich called by another name is the "hero" which is generally some kind of meat surrounded by a loaf or half a loaf of Italian bread. My favorite hero is a meatball hero. This is generally three (or more) meatballs, squeezed between a half a loaf of hard, crispy Italian bread. A spicy tomato sauce is slavered over the meatballs which are then covered with mozzarella cheese and microwaved, just enough to lightly melt the cheese.

There is also the "hoagie", the "Dagwood", the "belly burner" all of which are sandwiches. The names by which the common sandwich masquerades are almost endless, but no matter what they are called, when something is placed between two pieces of bread, it is still "a sandwich".

Everyone has their own favorite sandwich which is generally a concoction that only they will eat. One of my brothers, for example, will make a simple sandwich consisting solely of catsup put between two pieces of white bread. Someone else I know loves to put peanut butter on white bread (only white bread) over which he puts slices of banana. My personal favorite, and get ready to be impressed is one I generally make the day after Thanksgiving. I take two pieces of buttered white bread (only white bread) between which I squeeze slices of left over turkey, topped with left over stuffing, topped with left over cranberry sauce. Then, I take the whole thing and squeeze it, bite by bite, into my dainty mouth.

Actually, when I think about it, and I don't believe that I am alone in this, I actually like the day after a big meal better than the feast day itself (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter or whenever). All the hoopla accompanying these days is past, all the cooking is done and I am alone with the leftovers and my imagination and anything, or any combination of ingredients goes. And that is another fascination of the sandwich: any one can be a chef and creatively produce their own food masterpieces.

So hail to the sandwich whatever you call it, whatever you place between two pieces of bread, whenever you eat it, the sandwich is a work of art: a rose by any other name is still a rose and a sandwich, by any other name is still a sandwich. To paraphrase a well known expression: what this world needs is a really good sandwich and as many of them as it can get.

What's Next After Learning What Attraction Marketing Is?

What many people fail to understand is that sales are sales whether online or off. Attraction marketing is a term that has been invented, I guess, to make those who want to start an online business, such as affiliate marketing to understand that the principles are pretty much the same. Anyone that has been successful in sales offline will find the transition to online marketing so much easier than those who have never sold anything in their lives.

It's easy to take any of the guru courses about online marketing, get all fired up, try something for a few days and then give up. If you are a serial buyer of so-called guru courses like I was for a time, only after I had tried and quickly failed using half a dozen of them did I realize the answer. It was all down to me to implement everything I had learned from all of these courses; take the very best parts from each and roll them into a system I could call my own, and get on with it.

Okay, I had been in retail, but it wasn't something I enjoyed. The only real part of it that I did enjoy was making a sale and getting the commission, dealing with the general public gave me the ache. Online marketing is ideal for me. I know the rudiments of selling, the psychology behind it and why people buy. Online shopping for the most part is even more confusing for the consumer, although they can educate themselves thoroughly about the products they are interested in, they are also confronted with thousands of sites trying to sell them the exact same product. The trick is to get them to buy from you.

The right way to go about attraction marketing is by making yourself stand out from the crowd. You may think that's difficult, but consider why you bought that last guru product - after all, there are thousands of them available and many are very similar. You may have bought it because the seller looked trustworthy, he included valuable and helpful information before you bought, he has a good reputation in the IM business and somehow he convinced you his product would be valuable to you. Let's assume you are nodding your head to this.

Now, when you signed up for this guru product didn't you get bombarded with emails afterwards? If you didn't buy immediately, were you hooked in anyway with a box that gave you (and only you of course!) that valuable $10 off for today only? You bought right?

These are the same principles you should apply yourself when selling online. You must build a reputation by branding yourself (usually your face) and become well-known for whatever you are doing or promoting. The psychology of selling is still the same as at a flea market - you walk away and the vendor shouts a lower price to you and you buy. If he is nice to you as well, and is a regular vendor at the market you will probably go back later to see what other good deals he can offer you. No different online at all.

It all has to start out with you taking the initial steps. If these are your first attempts at internet marketing, don't be shy, just get on with it, you have a lot of work to do. Start out promoting something you know a lot about and love first. You will have to write many articles and blog posts about it and perhaps start a Facebook Group and encourage others to join, but what you are doing primarily is promoting you, the product is secondary for the time being. You must keep people engaged and interested and coming back because they like you, they perceive you as being an expert, they trust you and they are probably looking for a deal, or something free at least.

It isn't easy at first, it's a lonely life staying home and writing articles and sending emails and building websites, but when you start getting responses and get those first few sales it's amazing how much more enthusiastic you will be. The more you put into any kind of online marketing, the more you will eventually get out of it. It's like throwing a small snowball downhill, as long as it can keep going and adding to itself it will get bigger.

Keep educating yourself about where to find more traffic, keep building backlinks, keep an eye on every tactic you try, and stick with the things that get you results. It only takes ten people to tell 10 of their friends that you are the go to person on your particular subject, and you will soon be reaping the rewards.

Baby Shower Menu Ideas and Tips

When hosting a baby shower an important part of your duties is to come up with decent baby shower menu ideas for your guests. The last thing you want is for your guests to go hungry, or for them to think that you have economized with the drinks. Nobody wants to be labeled the Tight-Fisted Baby Shower Host!

You should start by deciding how formal/informal your baby shower food is going to be. This will allow you to easily home-in on suitable menu ideas. At the high end is the sit-down dinner, with maybe 4 courses, wine, good quality tableware, and probably a certain level of dress-code required of the guests. At the other end of the scale is the "come as you are" stand-up buffet. There is no right or wrong: you simply have to fit the baby shower to the social expectations of your guests. It may be tempting to hire caterers, a band, silverware, bone china crockery, etc., for your big day, but if this is at odds with how you and your guests live day-to-day, then you may end up making everyone feel uncomfortable.

If you aren't going to be hosting an all-out banquet, with outside catering, etc., then you may be interested in these few ideas I have used myself:

Ice-Breakers

These are small snacks that your guests can easily carry around with them on a plate. This has two positive effects: the guests have to load-up the plate and then move on, and they have to return to the table to get more food. All this moving around promotes interaction and conversation. So quite a clever way to get the chatter going! If you have decent carpet, you may want to avoid foods that require dips!

I recommend using only better quality food for your baby shower menu, and that applies to ice-breaker food, too. It will pay you back in spades if you serve your guests good, wholesome, tasty food, rather than so-so fare. Whenever possible, add your own touch: maybe a family-recipe seafood dip; a few herbs from your garden; home-baked bread, etc. It won't make the guests think you caught the Atlantic shrimp yourself, but it will show that you are making a real effort for them. And that is money in the bank!

The Main Course

Following-on from the advice above, make sure that the food is good. Whether it's a simple BBQ or a beef roast, don't economize on the ingredients. Even if you are going for an informal theme, you can still wow your guests with interesting variations on classic ideas: what about serving an exotic meat burger, as well as more usual dishes? You won't need much of it (as most won't want to risk the experience), but it will certainly get everyone talking. If you want to "walk on the wild side", then look online for specialist vendors, or even your local store. My local supermarket sells ostrich, emu and kangaroo meat!

It's time to mention vegetarian guests: if any group of people has ever had to put up with terrible food at social gatherings, it's the vegetarians. You may be a meat-eating, blue steak-loving, wolf-like carnivore, but more and more people are turning away from red meat - or meat of any kind - and favoring fish, fowl, and, in some cases, adopting the No Meat At All policy of the vegan diet. It's no good rolling one's eyes and thinking that the tired, worn-out, insipid and - frankly - disrespectful Vegetarian Lasagna cop-out will be good enough for your vegetarian guests; it simply won't do!

Remember, too, that some guests will likely have allergies to certain foods or food groups. You can't take risks, so always put a Dietary Requirements section on your baby shower invitations and read (then read again) all ingredients listings on the food you are going to serve, so that you know what you are serving to your guests. Having a guest leave in an ambulance is never a good thing!

Dessert

Not everyone thinks that cake and ice cream are great baby shower menu ideas. I recommend adopting the same approach that restaurants take: allow each guest to select one item from a couple of sweet desserts, some decent cheeses with crackers, fruit, and liqueur coffee. That will keep just about everyone happy.

Drinks

Alcohol and social events go hand-in-hand. But remember that a baby shower is not a 21st birthday party; it's a much more refined and elegant occasion. It's not good etiquette to demand that your guests not drink at all, but you can certainly limit their alcohol intake. A smart approach to this potentially tricky side of the baby shower is to serve one drink to each guest when they arrive, and then serve more drinks at 20 minute intervals. This is just a guide, and you know your guests best, but the thing to avoid is a Help Yourself To Booze scenario. Remember: it's a Baby Shower.

So, organizing and implementing baby shower food and drink is not a science, but it does require some up-front thinking. By simply tweaking the usual baby shower menu ideas, adding a twist of originality, and keeping the guests' needs in mind, the whole process becomes easier, and a lot more fun!

Preventing Nursing Home Abuse

Your involvement is key  to making sure nursing home abuse does not occur. Visit the facility frequently, so you assess firsthand the care. Try to vary the times you visit, so you can witness the care at all hours. If you have concerns, talk to the aides, nurses, social worker, administrator, or doctor.

Your state survey agency can be an excellent source of information. In each state's Department of Health, there is a division responsible for enforcement of nursing regulations. Yearly surveys are conducted, and the agency and follow up on these surveys investigating complaints submitted by family members. The division is required to provide you with they collect.

If you suspect a  resident is a victim of either neglect or abuse by the nursing home, a complaint should be filed with the state Licensing and Certification. This agency has the power to file a citation against the facility as well as fine and require corrective action.

Many are afraid to issue a complaint against the nursing home for fear of retaliation against the resident. If you have these concerns, the licensing agency can assist you with procedures designed to protect your family member. A common option chosen by many is to move the resident to another facility while the investigation takes place.

The complaints can be made either orally or in writing. Investigators will visit the facility as early as 10 days after the complaint has been issued. The nursing home will not be notified of the investigation in advance. Evidence will consist of observations, statements from witnesses, and facility records. If the investigator determines the complaint is warranted, a citation will be issued.

The person issuing the complaint will be notified of the decision in writing. If the complainant is not satisfied with the decision, an informal hearing may be conducted. If the decision from the hearing is still unsatisfactory, the plaintiff can appeal for review.

You have the right to take private legal action against the  home. However, each state has a certain time frame in which legal action can be taken. Once this time passes, a case can no longer be filed. Therefore, it is important to consult the advice of an attorney who can protect the rights of your loved one and guide you through the legal process.
